'Here, There and Duracell', Six and Lung Project Space, Bournemouth.
Curated by Timothy Holt.
Social Artist, Timothy Holt transformed Six and Lung Project Space in Bournemouth with 'Here, There and Duracell', a kinetic installation encapsulating everyday building material and physical space. The solo exhibition traced the Social Artist's playful nature to elaborate the ordinary and raises questions about how objects are perceived.
The centrepiece of the exhibition, 'The Doable and Undoable Bunnies', 2011, was an intervention into the space that comes alive through onlooker’s curiosity. Everyone was welcomed to explore the installation created solely from art and household materials.
Holts' supporting work, 'Seconds in the Making', 2011, drew back to the Social Artist's primary research and preparation for the show. These works stem from the experimental drawings created from 'The Doable and Undoable Bunnies', 2011 in intervals of 60 seconds. The artist brings these works together to question the objects' functionality as well as to explore the matter of chance by calling the audience to have an experience.
The show engaged the spectator to question our dependent bond to materials.
